How to clear your web browser cache

Your web browser stores information about websites you visit; this normally allows the website to display appropriate information to you.

This information (generally stored in 'cookies') can sometimes cause pages not to be displayed correctly.

To resolve this, you must clear the 'cache' where the cookies are stored.

In Microsoft Edge

  • Click the 3 dots in the top right to open the menu
  • Choose Settings
  • From the left hand menu (click the 3 lines at top left if menu is hidden)
  • Click Privacy, search & services.
  • Under Clear browsing data now
  • Click Choose what to clear.
  • At the top, choose a time range. Select All time.
  • Select only "Cached images and files" and "Cookies and other site data" check box and then click Clear now.
  • Close ALL browser windows by Clicking the 3 dots again
  • Choose Close Microsoft Edge (or reboot if closing Edge does not resolve the problem)

In Google Chrome

  • At the top right, click More More.
